Adam Henry
Biography
Dr. Adam Henry joined ASU's Thunderbird School of Global Management in June 2019 as Executive Director, Enrollment and Student Success. In this capacity, he is responsible for overseeing all student recruitment & admissions, academic advising, student engagement and career service functions for the School. Henry has served at Arizona State University since 2009.
Henry is a dedicated leader in international and global education with proven success in enrollment management, student services, education abroad, program management, university teaching, and international programming. An articulate communicator and team leader; skilled in guiding teams, and quickly engaging team members with the ability to develop and advance significant global initiatives and partnerships through strategic relationship building.
Prior to joining the Thunderbird global family, Henry directed the ASU Study Abroad Office. As director, he advanced the vision, strategy and implementation of study abroad at ASU and its connection across all disciplines. He and his team also moved ASUs Study Abroad into the Institute of International Education (IIE) rankings for institutions awarding credit for study abroad participation. Specifically, during Henrys tenure, ASU went from being unranked to ranked #10 (IIE, Open Doors, 2018) in the nation for sending the most students abroad in an academic year. Previous to his leadership role in the ASU Study Abroad Office, he was Assistant Director of Global Launch at ASU and previous to joining the university, he directed an advocacy and service-learning program for FH, an international non-governmental organization.
The Thunderbird Graduate Student Success team creates an accessible graduate student experience, both inside and outside the classroom, that empowers all students to learn, develop purpose and passion, a global mindset, and grow as individuals to achieve their academic and professional goals in the Fourth Industrial Revolution. We strive to create a positive student-centered environment by providing all students with the necessary resources, advising, and support to enhance their student life experience. We offer the expertise and infrastructure necessary to support their global aspirations. We develop Thunderbirds for life-changing careers.
Henry has lived, studied and worked in Chengdu, China, for three years. He has studied, volunteered and traveled extensively in over 30 countries. A native of Tempe, Adam lives in Tempe with his wife and three children.
