Dr. Sogol Homayoun is the Assistant Director of Recruitment and Admissions for the Master of Global Management (MGM) and the Accelerated 4+1 MGM programs while also supporting the recruitment of the Executive MGM at Thunderbird School of Global Management at Arizona State University (ASU). She was born in Iran and raised in Germany, Iran and the U.S. She moved to Arizona in 2002 to pursue higher education. Prior to joining Thunderbird, Sogol was an investment specialist for a top U.S. investment firm. She has a proven track record of success in driving change, acquiring key accounts, stewarding client or student relationships, effectively collaborating with all levels of management, and thriving in cross-cultural environments, yet remaining committed to improving the community in which she lives and works.
Sogol holds a B.A. in English Linguistics from ASU, a M.B.A. in Global Management from Thunderbird, and an Ed.D. in Leadership and Innovation from ASU. She speaks English, Spanish and Farsi (Persian) and has traveled to 14 countries and counting. Sogol leads a purpose-driven life to develop her students, mentees and clients and help them overcome barriers through higher education, self-reflection and creative development.
Currently, she is the co-author of a compassion in the workplace handbook for financial services professionals. She also serves as an education consultant for the City of Mesa in their Collective leadership development program funded by the Flinn Foundation. Finally, she serves as mentor for Thunderbird students to assist them in designing their careers.
