Supervisor of International Business Division, Bestar Laboratories Ltd., Taipei, Taiwan

Tell us about your current role and responsibilities.

I am responsible for managing the International Business Division for Bestar Laboratories in the Asia Pacific and African markets.

Why did you choose Thunderbird?

I chose Thunderbird for its global influence. My father and Dr. Yung-Ho Chiu, who was the delegate of Soochow University (Taiwan), were once involved in facilitating a deal with Thunderbird for a dual-degree program with Soochow.

How has your Thunderbird experience played a role in your career?

My function at Bestar requires me to cooperate tightly with multinational cultures and cross-functional teams, which my Thunderbird training prepared me for. Thunderbird gave me great lessons on how to be open minded, to have a growth and positive mindset, to believe in myself, to have the ability to change and to impact—all without forgetting to be modest.

How has being a T-bird affected your personal life?

Thunderbird made me a better person. It reshaped me to be well-rounded and thoughtful. It made me believe in myself and know who I am so that I could grow the ability to inspire others.

What does the Thunderbird mystique mean to you?

To me, the Thunderbird mystique is to believe. T-birds mostly believe they can change and impact; they are not dreamers but doers. They are approachable and modest and will do whatever they believe is right.

What advice would you give to someone considering Thunderbird?

If you have a dream and want to cultivate your positive and growth mindset, Thunderbird is the right place for you.

Thunderbird made me a better person. It reshaped me to be well-rounded and thoughtful. It made me believe in myself and know who I am so that I could grow the ability to inspire others.
