An ambitious program like the SHARE Fellowship needs an ambitious goal. Therefore, we are embarking on a bold mission to raise funds to offer additional life-changing opportunities for students who would not be able to attend Thunderbird otherwise.
Thunderbird School of Global Management, originally known as the American Institute for Foreign Trade, has a rich history dating back to 1946. This legacy of excellence and innovation forms the foundation of the SHARE Fellowship.
The SHARE Fellowship, founded in 2008 by alumnus Marshall Parke '77, was born from a simple yet powerful idea: to provide comprehensive support to exceptional students from low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) who aspire to study at Thunderbird. This vision goes beyond mere financial assistance; it encompasses mentorship, networking, and ongoing guidance that extends well beyond graduation.
I created the SHARE Fellowship after thinking of my time working in Bangkok. While it was terrific to have American graduates running these organizations, I thought 'why don't we have Thais, Indonesians, or Filipinos doing this?' So, I started a program to provide scholarships for those students. What we've found, whether they stay in the United States or go home, is that all of them make an impact on where they came from. They will go out and do something special."
