The ability to respond to change has become a critical ingredient for any manager’s professional livelihood. In an environment such as the Brazilian financial sector that has experienced extraordinary growth to devastating periods of crisis, the ability to adapt is not only necessary for one’s success, but their survival. In this session, Rodrigo Xavier, former CEO and chairman of Bank of America Merrill Lynch Brazil, speaks about his experiences navigating the turbulent political and economic climate of Brazil while also handling a life-altering personal event.
Prior to joining Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Xavier was a founding partner of Vinci Partners where he was responsible for all the commercial areas of the firm. Previously, Xavier was CEO of UBS Pactual and co-head of UBS Global Asset Management for Latin America. He joined Banco Pactual in 1993 where he held a number of positions of increasing responsibility such as co-head of asset management and head of equity sales and trading. He became a partner of Pactual in 1997 and a member of its executive committee in 2003.
Xavier has a bachelor’s degree in economics from Universidade de Brasilia, post-graduate studies in International economics from Tohoku and Fukushima Universities in Japan and a master's degree in international management from the Thunderbird School of Global Management.
Join us for a reception at the on-campus Thunderbird pub directly after the keynote.
