Francisco Morales, Thunderbird alumnus, co-founded 5.11 Tactical in 2003. The company, which offers "tactical apparel and gear for law enforcement, first responders, tactical operators and recreational enthusiasts," announced in late August that Morales has been appointed as the company's new Chief Executive Officer. Currently, he serves as 5.11's President.
"Francisco Morales has been my partner for the past 7 years," says outgoing 5.11 CEO Tom Davin, who is transitioning to an advisory position with the company. "He is one of the most talented leaders I’ve worked with during my 30-year business career. I’m excited to support him as he guides 5.11 through the next stages of global growth."
Morales, who graduated from Thunderbird's Executive MBA program in 2011, previously served as President of outdoor and travel clothing company Royal Robbins, and developed brands and product lines for L.L. Bean and Dick's Sporting Goods.
"5.11’s prospects are strong, and I am honored to become the Company’s new CEO," Morales said in an official press release. "I look forward to ... further [solidifying] 5.11’s leadership position. We remain committed to continuing 5.11’s proud tradition of partnering with our end-users while continuously innovating new purpose-built apparel and gear for the most demanding missions.”
