Overview
The Thunderbird School of Global Management-Arizona State University-Hiroshima University Global Initiative offers an undergraduate degree program on the campus of Hiroshima University, a leading national comprehensive research university in Japan. In the Global Initiative, students study towards a Bachelor in Global Management or Bachelor of Science in International Trade.
At Thunderbird/ASU-HU Global Initiative, students spend the first and second years in the City of Higashi-Hiroshima and study on the campus of Hiroshima University (HU), followed by the third and fourth years spent at the ASU West Campus. On the HU campus, students enjoy the international academic community on the 620 acres of university campus space, full of rich nature and located in the suburbs of the central city of Hiroshima.
An intensive pre-admission English as a second language program prepares non-native English-speaking students to study in English, and through the rigorous four-year Thunderbird curriculum, students will be equipped with specialized skills, knowledge, and global perspectives to play a leading role in global and complex environments.

Our Campus
The West campus of Arizona State University creates a learning community blending liberal arts education with 21st-century workforce preparation. The campus provides modern amenities in its residence halls, dining facilities, and the Sun Devil Fitness Complex and swimming pool. Subtropical landscaping, fountains and outdoor enclaves are third-space opportunities for students to socialize or collaborate while pursuing any of more than 50 undergraduate and graduate degree programs.
West campus landmarks include the Albert Paley-designed entry gates, extensive public art, and at the center of campus, Fletcher Lawn. This commons is a contemporary homage to traditional university education, as is the Oxford-inspired architecture around it on the courtyard-fashioned campus.
Hiroshima University
Hiroshima University is the largest one-campus university in Japan and has facilities for research and education as well as a wide variety of student facilities. These facilities include a number of restaurants, libraries, computer labs, shops, a health center, a hair dresser, a bicycle repair shop, and more.

- Initial meeting with student support staff to discuss academic majors and understand how to apply to the Global Initiative. You will receive an email message from Thunderbird Global Initiative Office requesting dates to meet in-person or online.
- Apply and complete application to Thunderbird – HU Global Initiative at Arizona State University
- Submit all the required application materials online to Arizona State University. Once you have completed and submitted all documentation you will be able to check your admission status by signing into My ASU.
