An accomplished scholar, Professor G.L.A. Harris spent the past 17 years at Portland State University. She is well known for her research on the U.S. military and those in the international community and twice served as a Fulbright distinguished chair, including as NATO Chair in Security Studies. It was Harris seminal research on student veterans that not only became the impetus for both state and federal legislations but was the prototype for the Veterans Resource Centers on college campuses today. Harris is a former Senior Commissioned Officer and distinguished graduate of the U.S. Air Force service schools, including the Air War College.
