Glen Loveland
Biography
Glen Loveland, Senior Career Coach at the Thunderbird School of Global Management, brings over 15 years of global human resources and talent acquisition expertise honed across the U.S. and Asia. He began his career as a congressional Press Secretary for U.S. Representative Tom Udall (D-NM) before finding his calling in international HR.
For over a decade, Glen was based in Beijing working for multinational firms like Pearson and The Walt Disney Company. He made history as the first foreigner hired as Human Resources Manager by China's state broadcaster CCTV/CGTN, where he spearheaded expatriate recruitment across their English, Arabic, French, Spanish, and Russian media outlets.
To immerse himself in the local culture, Glen studied Mandarin Chinese at the Beijing Language & Culture University. His first-hand experiences navigating the complexities of China's talent landscape are captured in his book "Beijing Bound: A Foreigner Discovers China."
Stateside, Glen was involved in the HR operations for the construction of the $40 billion Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Corporation (TSMC) facility in Phoenix.
