More than 2,500 T-birds from 40 countries, 39 U.S. states and spanning years from 1949 to 2024 gathered during the first week of April to celebrate Thunderbird's Grand Opening and 75th Anniversary Global Reunion.
On Founders' Day, April 8, thousands attended the official opening of the Global Headquarters marked by a celebratory evening of music, food and culture. Thank you to all of our donors for making this incredible facility a reality.
Thunderbird Global Headquarters Named After F. Francis '77 and Dionne Najafi '06
Thunderbird unveiled the official name of the building as the F. Francis and Dionne Najafi Global Headquarters, which is named after ASU and Thunderbird alumni F. Francis '77 and Dionne Najafi '06 in recognition of their generous $25 million donation in support of the 100 Million Learners Initiative.
Throughout Grand Opening week, Thunderbird students organized Regional Night Celebrations highlighting people and cultures around the world through music, food, dance and fashion.
Kicking-Off the Campaign for Thunderbird's Next 75 Years
On Saturday, April 9, T-birds came together to kick off Thunderbird's campaign at a gala held at the Van Buren in support of student scholarship and philanthropic support, and to celebrate the next 75 years.
